Migraines
Do you get migraines? I do. At least once per week. I take two different meds for prevention. Without them, I might have two headaches per week or have one headache last three days. Emgality is very expensive (like $600/dose). I talked my insurance company into charging me $40/dose. Emgality also has a program to help pay. I did Botox and it was effective but the only doctor that administered it doesn’t see patients on Friday and that’s the only day I can reliably get a ride. (No driving.) When a migraine hits, I treat it with Imitrex (sumatriptan) tablets. If the headache proceeds to vomiting, I use Imitrex (sumatriptan) injection. Pills don’t work if you throw them up. I’d love to hear how you deal with migraines. For me, these are among the worst parts of ataxia. I have lost many days to these headaches.
