An Ataxian Learning Curve

Image
Well, the move is just about over and I discovered some things along the way. I discovered that if I worked three days, I spent three days in bed sleeping.  Thank you ataxia.  I used to be indestructible.  No more.  Ataxian learning - pacing. Power wheelchair broke down day before the move.  Power chairs push boxes.  Manual chairs rely on your legs.  I was in a horrible manual chair for three weeks.  Ataxian learning - Murphy’s Law.  My legs. I didn’t realize how many moves rely on learning curves.  Where to put the wheelchair when transferring anywhere:  shower, toilet, recliner, bed.  Also I am famous for dinging walls, doors, wall frames.  I find that slow care and using learning curves helps.  A few weeks ago my husband traveled out of town for the first time in months.  By the end of the day, I was in tears saying I should be in a nursing home and I have no business being alone in this house.  By the next day I had accepted the notion of learning curves and it/I was better.
